Regular Season Round 50: Tokyo Utd - Kagoshima 77-86

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Kagoshima (41-11) beat on the road 6th ranked Tokyo Utd (31-21) 86-77 on Saturday. Kagoshima made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-1993, college: LCU) notched 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and Nigerian-American forward Michael Fakuade (201-1989, college: UIS) supported him with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Even 33 points (!!!) by American swingman Michael Craig (196-1991, college: Southern Miss) did not help to save the game for Tokyo Utd. Point guard Hiroki Higashi (185-1995) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kagoshima maintains fourth position with 41-11 record. Newly promoted Tokyo Utd keeps the sixth place with 21 games lost. Kagoshima will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tokyo Utd will play again against Kagoshima (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
