Regular Season Round 50: Iwate - Gifu 108-67
Date: April 8, 2023
B3 League top team - Iwate (44-7) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Gifu (19-32) 108-67. Iwate looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Gifu's players. Beninese power forward Muusa Dama (207-1996, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and American forward Kristian Doolittle (201-1997, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Iwate players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Noah Dahlman (202-1989, college: Wofford) did not help to save the game for Gifu. His fellow American import forward Jerrell Wright (204-1991, college: La Salle) added 6 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Iwate have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 44-7 record. Gifu at the other side keeps the ninth place with 32 games lost. They share the position with Veertien Mie. Iwate will again meet at home Gifu (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gifu will have a break next round.
