Regular Season Round 7: Al Wakrah - Qatar Club 91-105

The biggest surprise of round 7 was guest Qatar Club's (4-2) road victory over 5th ranked Al Wakrah (3-3) 105-91 on Wednesday evening. Qatar Club made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 39 assists. Serbian Dejan Janjic (198-1995) fired a triple-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 12 rebounds, 12 assists and 5 steals for the winners. American guard Brian Halums (196-1997, college: UAFS) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. American guard Donte McGill (190-1995, college: FIU, agency: Green Sports Management) produced 28 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the former international center Ndour Mame Souleye (206-1987) added 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Four Al Wakrah players scored in double figures. Qatar Club moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Arabi and Al Shamal. Al Wakrah at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Qatar Club will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al Wakrah will play on the road against Al Shamal (#3) in Doha and is hoping to win this game.
