There was a minor upset when 13th ranked Shanan Utd (15-35) was defeated on the road by fifteenth ranked Tachikawa (14-36) 83-78 on Sunday. Tachikawa outrebounded Shanan Utd 39-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American center Emondre Rickman (208-1996, college: Indiana St., agency: One Motive Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import forward Tristin Walley (201-1996, college: Arkansas St., agency: One Motive Sports) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American forward Chris Olivier (202-1992, college: OK State, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 29 points and 8 rebounds and guard Shinya Takagi (187-1997) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Tachikawa moved-up to fourteenth place. Shanan Utd lost third consecutive game. Shanan Utd at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 35 games lost. Tachikawa will meet at home bottom-ranked Shinagawa (#16) in the next round. Shanan Utd will play against Shizuoka having rather not much hope for a victory.
