Regular Season Round 48: Ibaraki R. - Shinshu BW 91-69

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Shinshu BW (21-26) against seventh ranked Ibaraki R. (16-31) on Sunday night. Visiting Shinshu BW was crushed by Ibaraki R. in Mito 91-69. Ibaraki R. outrebounded Shinshu BW 38-23 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. Ibaraki R. players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-1990, college: Portland St.) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import Eric Jacobsen (208-1994, college: Arizona St.) who added 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Ibaraki R. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) with 15 points and 6 rebounds and American Anthony McHenry (202-1983, college: Georgia Tech) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ibaraki R. maintains seventh position with 16-31 record. Shinshu BW at the other side dropped to the fourth place with 26 games lost. They share the position with Osaka E.. Ibaraki R. will play against higher ranked Akita NH (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Shinshu BW will play against the league's leader Kawasaki BT where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
