Regular Season Round 48: Hiroshima D. - Kyoto H. 76-63
Date: April 2, 2023
Rather predictable result when third ranked Hiroshima D. (35-12) won against at home 7th ranked Kyoto H. (17-30) 76-63 on Sunday. The winners were led by American forward Kerry Blackshear Jr (208-1997, college: Florida) who scored that evening 11 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Hiroshima D. players scored in double figures. Hiroshima D.'s coach Kyle Milling used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds by Mali power forward Cheick Diallo (206-1996, college: Kansas) did not help to save the game for Kyoto H.. American forward Jarrod Uthoff (203-1993, college: Iowa) added 8 points and 12 rebounds. Hiroshima D. have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Alvark Tokyo. Kyoto H. lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with 30 games lost. They share it with Sendai 89ers. Hiroshima D. will meet FE Nagoya (#6) on the road in the next round. Kyoto H. will play against Shiga L-Stars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
