No shocking result in a game in Renova where third ranked Kagoshima (40-10) defeated 14th ranked Yamaguchi (13-37) 96-81 on Sunday. Kagoshima looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-1993, college: LCU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and Nigerian-American forward Michael Fakuade (201-1989, college: UIS) chipped in 26 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Jamaican-British center Ryan Richards (212-1991) responded with 9 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Robert Sampson (203-1992, college: Georgia Tech) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kagoshima have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain third place with 40-10 record having just three points less than leader Iwate, which they share with Shizuoka.
