Everything went according to plan in Shanghai where second ranked Guandong Tigers (31-7) beat 5th ranked Sharks (23-16) 108-101 on Tuesday. Guandong Tigers shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 51.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American MarShon Brooks (197-1989, college: Providence) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international Runwang Du (206-1999) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Zhelin Wang (214-1994) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Eric Bledsoe (185-1989, college: Kentucky) added 17 points and 7 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Guandong Tigers have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 31-7 record having just two points less than leader Zhejiang GB. Loser Sharks keep the fifth place with 16 games lost. Guandong Tigers will meet Aviators (#4) in the next round. Sharks will play against Pioneers and hope to secure a win.
