Regular Season Round 27: Steelers - Pilots 99-84

Very important is a loss of third ranked Pilots (15-14) against sixth ranked Steelers (8-21) on Sunday night. Pilots were defeated by Steelers 99-84. They made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Steelers had a 36-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized American point guard Jeremy Lin (191-1988, college: Harvard) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 8 rebounds and 15 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). The former international center Szu-Yao Sun (205-1997, college: NYIT) accounted for 15 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Five Steelers players scored in double figures. American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-1990, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with 25 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Jeff Ayres (206-1987, college: Arizona St., agency: Slash Sports) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Pilots in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Steelers maintains sixth place with 8-21 record. Pilots lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the third position with 14 games lost. Steelers will play against higher ranked Dreamers (#4) in Changhua in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pilots will play at home against the league's second-placed Fubon Braves and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
