Regular Season Round 46: Tokyo Utd - Veertien Mie 82-84

A very close game took place in Tokyo between Veertien Mie and Tokyo Utd. Tenth ranked Veertien Mie (17-31) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Tokyo Utd (29-19). Veertien Mie managed to escape with a 2-point win 84-82 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Tokyo Utd. They outrebounded Tokyo Utd 39-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. American forward Josh Martin (201-1995, college: Santa Clara) had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 21 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Tucker Haymond (198-1994, college: W.Michigan) chipped in 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists during the contest. Veertien Mie's coach Masao Kuda used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American swingman Michael Craig (196-1991, college: Southern Miss) responded with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and South Sudanese-American center Angelo Chol (206-1993, college: SDSU) scored 9 points. Newly promoted Veertien Mie maintains tenth position with 17-31 record. Tokyo Utd at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth place with 19 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
