Regular Season Round 46: Gifu - Yokohama EX 88-91

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Yokohama EX (35-12) edged on the road 9th ranked Gifu (18-29) 91-88 on Saturday. Strangely Gifu outrebounded Yokohama EX 48-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman LJ Peak (196-1996, college: Georgetown, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Ryan Stephan (208-1994, college: CMU) chipped in 19 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Jerrell Wright (204-1991, college: La Salle) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and forward Noah Dahlman (202-1989, college: Wofford) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Four Gifu players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Yokohama EX maintains fifth position with 35-12 record. Gifu lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 29 games lost. Yokohama EX will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gifu will play again against Yokohama EX (#5) and hope to secure a win.
