Regular Season Round 39: Wonju DB - KoGas 84-83

Ninth-ranked KoGas (17-34) gave a tough game to seventh ranked Wonju DB (22-27) on Saturday. Wonju DB managed to secure only one-point victory 84-83. However their fans expected easier game. The best player for the winners was the former international center Jongkyu Kim (207-1991) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Ethan Alvano (185-1996, college: CSUSM) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Alvano is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Wonju DB's coach Sang-Bum Lee used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Dae-Heon Lee (198-1992) who recorded 24 points and 6 rebounds and Filipino guard SJ Belangel (177-1999, agency: Rigorer Korea Agency) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Wonju DB. They moved-up to sixth place. KoGas lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 34 games lost. Wonju DB will meet league's leader Anyang on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KoGas will play against Seoul Thunders (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
