There was no surprise in Doha where bottom-ranked Al Khor (0-4) was defeated by sixth ranked Al Ahli (2-2) 70-62 on Thursday. Al Ahli outrebounded Al Khor 41-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 41 assists. American forward Alex Young (198-1989, college: IUPUI) stepped up and scored 20 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 8 steals for the winners and the former international swingman Khalid Abdi (198-1987) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. American power forward Tony Criswell (205-1991, college: Missouri) responded with a triple-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists and the other American import point guard Ameer Jackson (193-1994, college: WSSU) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 10 steals. Al Ahli maintains sixth place with 2-2 record. Loser Al Khor still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Al Gharafa.
