Regular Season Round 44: Kawasaki BT - Toyama G. 85-81

Very expected game in Kanagawa where 7th ranked Toyama G. (8-35) was defeated by first ranked Kawasaki BT (27-16) 85-81 on Wednesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Kawasaki BT forced 21 Toyama G. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-1985, college: Nevada) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals and American-Georgian Matt Janning (195-1988, college: Northeastern) who added 18 points and 9 assists during the contest. British forward Myles Hesson (198-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and American center Joshua Smith (208-1992, college: Georgetown) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Five Kawasaki BT and four Toyama G. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Kawasaki BT have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 27-16 record. Loser Toyama G. keeps the seventh place with 35 games lost. Kawasaki BT will meet at home Ibaraki R. (#7) in the next round where they are favorite.
