Regular Season Round 47: Chiba - Saga B. 82-80

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Saga B. (38-11) on the court of first ranked Chiba on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Chiba 82-80. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Chiba looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American Brandon Ashley (206-1994, college: Arizona) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Leo Lyons (206-1987, college: Missouri) helped adding 14 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Five Chiba players scored in double figures. The former international forward Takanobu Nishikawa (195-1992) responded with 32 points and 7 assists and American Chase Fieler (202-1992, college: FGCU) scored 10 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Saga B.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chiba have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Newly promoted Chiba maintains first place with 38-11 record, which they share with defeated Saga B. Saga B. lost fourth consecutive game. Chiba is looking forward to face Bambitious N. (#6) in Nara in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Saga B. will play on the road against Kagawa FA (#7) in Takamatsu and is hoping to win this game.
