Regular Season Round 47: Aomori W. - Ehime OV 74-64

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Aomori W. and 4th placed Ehime OV had identical 22-26 record. This time Aomori W. used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Matsuyama 74-64 on Sunday night. The best player for the winners was American forward Alex Davis (206-1992, college: Fresno St., agency: Diamond Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import power forward EJ Montgomery (208-1999, college: Kentucky) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Aomori W.'s coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-1990, college: Oklahoma, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-1990, college: LBSU) added 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. The victory was the third consecutive win for Aomori W.. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Fukushima. Ehime OV at the other side keeps the fourth position with 27 games lost. Aomori W. will meet league's second-placed Koshigaya A. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ehime OV will play against Fukuoka R. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
