Rather predictable result in Nanjing where fifteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (16-20) defeated 19th ranked Pioneers (7-29) 104-96 on Friday. Jiangsu Dragons made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Pioneers turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Antonio Blakeney (193-1996, college: LSU) who scored 38 points (!!!) and 5 assists. His fellow American import center Devin Williams (206-1994, college: WVU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Taiwanese guard Benson Lin (193-1999, college: Bryant) who recorded 25 points and 4 assists and American point guard Brandon Jefferson (175-1991, college: MSU Denver) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists respectively. Five Pioneers players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Qingdao E. Pioneers lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the nineteenth position with 29 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will meet league's second-placed Guandong Tigers in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pioneers will play against Eagles (#15) and hope to secure a win.
