Regular Season Round 44: Yokohama EX - Shizuoka 85-92

Rather predictable result when second ranked Shizuoka (37-9) won against 5th ranked Yokohama EX (34-12) in Tokyo 92-85 on Friday. Shizuoka looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by American center Kenny Lawson (207-1988, college: Creighton) who scored that evening 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-1994, college: Texas A&M) supported him with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Miller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 16 points, 14 rebounds and 9 assists by American forward Jordan Faison (201-1994, college: CPP) did not help to save the game for Yokohama EX. His fellow American import center Ryan Stephan (208-1994, college: CMU) added 23 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Five Shizuoka and four Yokohama EX players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Shizuoka went down to third position due to points difference. Loser Yokohama EX keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
