Top ranked Anyang (36-14) recorded its fourteenth loss in Changwon on Thursday night. Visitors were edged by second ranked LG Sakers (33-17) 76-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Anyang. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Jae-Do Lee (180-1991) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. LG Sakers' coach Sung-Won Cho used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American Omari Spellman (207-1997, college: Villanova) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and the former international center Sek-Eun Oh (200-1987) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. LG Sakers maintains second place with 33-17 record having just three points less than leader Anyang. Anyang at the other side still keeps top position with 14 games lost. LG Sakers are looking forward to face Wonju DB (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Anyang will play against KCC Egis (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
