Regular Season Round 43: Yamaguchi - Toyoda 69-79

Very expected game when 14th ranked Yamaguchi (12-32) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Toyoda (19-25) 79-69 on Sunday. Toyoda looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for Guamanian-American guard Earnest Ross (198-1991, college: Missouri, agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Hajime Imabayashi (184-1999) helped adding 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Toyoda players scored in double figures. At the losing side Jamaican-British center Ryan Richards (212-1991) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Robert Sampson (203-1992, college: Georgia Tech) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyoda maintains eighth place with 19-25 record. Loser Yamaguchi keeps the fourteenth position with 32 games lost. They share it with Tachikawa. Toyoda will meet at home league's leader Iwate in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yamaguchi will play against Tokyo Utd (#6) and hope to secure a win.
