Regular Season Round 42: Okayama - Shinagawa 82-90
Date: March 11, 2023
Bottom-ranked Shinagawa managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they won against seventh-ranked Okayama 90-82. Shinagawa dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Okayama's 32. Okayama was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward AJ Bramah (201-1999, college: Nevada) notched a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and Canadian center Renaldo Dixon (206-1990, college: NM State) supported him with 15 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Even a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Jerome Tillman (201-1987, college: Ohio) did not help to save the game for Okayama. Point guard Makoto Higuchi (177-1992) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Okayama players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Shinagawa maintains sixteenth position with 5-38 record. Okayama at the other side keeps the seventh place with 19 games lost. Shinagawa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Okayama will play again at home against Shinagawa (#16) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
