There was no surprise when Barsy Atyr. was crushed on the road by Aktobe 73-37 on Saturday. Aktobe held Barsy Atyr. to an opponent 22.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Aktobe forced 22 Barsy Atyr. turnovers and outrebounded them 48-32 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Russian center Alexandra Plyasova (194-1987) had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Ksenia Korobkova (175-2003) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Guard Shugyla Kemel (168-2007) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Darya Vinogradova scored 6 points and 11 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Aktobe will meet Okzhetpes in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Barsy Atyr. will play against Shymkent in Kazygurt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
