Undefeated Qatar Club (2-1) recorded its first loss in Doha on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by top-ranked Al Sadd (2-0) 109-95. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Qatar Club. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Al Sadd dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Qatar Club's 32. They outrebounded Qatar Club 57-35 including a 23-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Al Sadd looked well-organized offensively handing out 57 assists comparing to just 35 passes made by Qatar Club's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Al Sadd made 7 blocks. American-German forward Waverly Austin (211-1991, college: Oregon, agency: Diamond Sports) fired a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 17 rebounds, 17 assists and 7 blocks for the winners. Libyan point guard Mohameed Elsadi (190-1995) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists. Five Al Sadd players scored in double figures.
