Regular Season Round 35: KoGas - Goyang 86-80

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked KoGas (17-29) won against higher ranked Goyang (22-22) in Inchon 86-80 on Thursday. KoGas made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Dae-Sung Lee (192-1990, college: BYU-Hawaii) who led the winners and scored 21 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). American forward Murphy Holloway (201-1990, college: Ole Miss, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four KoGas players scored in double figures. American power forward Dedric Lawson (206-1997, college: Kansas) came up with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Lee Jung-Hyun (190-1999) added 20 points respectively for Goyang in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KoGas maintains ninth place with 17-29 record. Loser Goyang keeps the fifth position with 22 games lost. KoGas will meet higher ranked Mobis Phoebus (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Goyang will play against Suwon KT in Busan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
