Regular Season Round 24: Pilots - Steelers 63-93

Very important is a loss of second ranked Pilots (15-10) against sixth ranked Steelers (5-19) on Sunday night. Pilots were crushed by Steelers 93-63. They held Pilots to an opponent 24.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 46.9 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Pilots 61-43 including a 51-30 advantage in defensive rebounds. Steelers players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by naturalized American point guard Jeremy Lin (191-1988, college: Harvard) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and Ukrainian center Viacheslav Kravtsov (212-1987, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Even 10 points and 9 rebounds by Palestinian power forward Sani Sakakini (204-1988) did not help to save the game for Pilots. Center Chin-Yao Shih (188-1990) added 13 points. Five Steelers and four Pilots players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Steelers maintains sixth position with 5-19 record. Pilots at the other side keep the second place with ten games lost. They share the position with Fubon Braves. Steelers will play against higher ranked Lioneers (#5) in Hsinchu in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pilots will have a break next round.
