Regular Season Round 34: LG Sakers - Suwon KT 84-67
Date: March 4, 2023
Not a big story in a game in Changwon where 7th ranked Suwon KT (19-25) was defeated by second ranked LG Sakers (30-15) 84-67 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for LG Sakers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Jae-Do Lee (180-1991) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Five LG Sakers players scored in double figures. At the losing side Hungarian-American power forward Jarrod Jones (207-1990, college: Ball St.) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and British V.Islands-Indonesian center Lester Prosper (210-1988, college: Old Westbury, agency: YoungGroup Unlimited) scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. LG Sakers have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 30-15 record having four points less than leader Anyang. Loser Suwon KT dropped to the sixth place with 25 games lost. They share the position with KCC Egis. LG Sakers will meet KCC Egis (#6) in the next round. Suwon KT will play against Seoul Knights and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
