The most important game in the last round took place in Jinan between third ranked Flying Leopards (22-7) and fifth ranked Heroes (18-11) on Tuesday night. Flying Leopards were defeated by Heroes in a tough game on the road 114-119. Heroes dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Flying Leopards' 38 and made 29-of-31 free shots (93.5 percent) during the game. Heroes forced 19 Flying Leopards turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Flying Leopards helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Troy Gillenwater (205-1988, college: NM State) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and the former international center Hanlin Tao (208-1991) who added 27 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The former international Ailun Guo (189-1993) responded with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international point guard Jiwei Zhao (184-1995) scored 20 points and 8 assists. Five Heroes and four Flying Leopards players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Heroes have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Shenzhen L. Defending champion Flying Leopards keep the third position with seven games lost. Heroes is looking forward to face Ducks (#6) in Beijing in the next round. Flying Leopards will play on the road against Rockets in Ningbo and are hoping to win this game.
