Regular Season Round 40: Ehime OV - Yamagata 100-85

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Ehime OV (20-23) won against 6th ranked Yamagata (17-26) in Matsuyama 100-85 on Saturday. Ehime OV made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Ehime OV looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The winners were led by point guard Takumi Furuno (179-1993) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 assists and American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-1990, college: Oklahoma, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Five Ehime OV players scored in double figures. Even 32 points and 5 rebounds by American James Bell (196-1992, college: Villanova, agency: Slash Sports) did not help to save the game for Yamagata. His fellow American import center Thomas Welsh (213-1996, college: UCLA, agency: Pensack Sports) added 13 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Ehime OV maintains fourth position with 20-23 record. Loser Yamagata keeps the sixth place with 26 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
