Regular Season Round 40: Koshigaya A. - Chiba 90-77

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Chiba (32-10) in Tokyo on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Koshigaya A. (31-11) 90-77. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Chiba. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Koshigaya A. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Chiba's 26. American power forward Evan Ravenel (204-1989, college: Ohio St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Leo Lyons (206-1987, college: Missouri) added 16 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) in the effort for Chiba. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Koshigaya A. maintains second position with 31-11 record having four points less than leader Chiba. Newly promoted Chiba still keeps top place with ten games lost. Koshigaya A. are again looking forward to face league's leader Chiba at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chiba will have a break next round.
