Regular Season Round 37: Saitama - Shinagawa 83-76

Very expected game when 16th ranked Shinagawa (3-35) was defeated on the road by third ranked Saitama (31-7) 83-76 on Sunday. Saitama outrebounded Shinagawa 49-35 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Saitama made 8 blocks. American power forward Ryan Watkins (206-1991, college: Boise St., agency: Slash Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. His fellow American import Grant Sitton (206-1993, college: Victoria) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Saitama players scored in double figures. American forward AJ Bramah (201-1999, college: Nevada) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Canadian center Renaldo Dixon (206-1990, college: NM State) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Saitama maintains third place with 31-7 record having just three points less than leader Shizuoka. Shinagawa at the other side stay dead last with 35 lost games. Saitama are looking forward to face Kagoshima (#4) in Renova in the next round. Shinagawa will play at home against Kanazawa (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
