Regular Season Round 36: Kanazawa - Yokohama EX 104-108

Very expected game in Ishikawa where 14th ranked Kanazawa (10-27) was defeated by fifth ranked Yokohama EX (28-9) 108-104 on Saturday. Yokohama EX made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American center Ryan Stephan (208-1994, college: CMU) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. The other American import swingman LJ Peak (196-1996, college: Georgetown, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 31 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Ukrainian forward Oleksandr Antypov (203-1995, agency: BIG) who recorded 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and Ukrainian point guard Igor Boyarkin (182-1995, agency: BIG) added 23 points and 11 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Yokohama EX have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 28-9 record. Kanazawa lost eighth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth place with 27 games lost. They share the position with Yamaguchi. Yokohama EX will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kanazawa will play again against Yokohama EX (#5) and hope to secure a win.
