Regular Season Round 10: FiberXers - NLEX RW 112-116

Very important is a home loss of third ranked FiberXers (4-2) against fourth ranked NLEX RW (5-2) on Saturday night. Host FiberXers were defeated by NLEX RW in a tough game in Makati 112-116. NLEX RW dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to FiberXers' 32 and made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. NLEX RW forced 31 FiberXers turnovers. FiberXers were plagued by 35 personal fouls down the stretch. American Wayne Selden (196-1994, college: Kansas, agency: Slash Sports) notched 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 8 steals to lead the effort and point guard Kevin Alas (183-1991) supported him with 31 points. Five NLEX RW players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 53 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals by American Jamaal Franklin (196-1991, college: SDSU, agency: Slash Sports) did not help to save the game for FiberXers. Guard Maverick Ahanmisi (188-1991, college: Minnesota) added 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. NLEX RW moved-up to third place. FiberXers at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Ginebra Kings. NLEX RW will play against Meralco Bolts (#7) in Manila in the next round. FiberXers will play at home against Blackwater Elite and hope to get back on the winning track.
