Regular Season Round 13: HK Eastern - NS Matrix 73-62

The biggest surprise took place in Hong Kong where host Hong Kong HK Eastern (11-4) beat league's leader Malaysian NS Matrix (10-4) 73-62 on Thursday evening. It was a key game for the second position in the league. HK Eastern outrebounded NS Matrix 51-32 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Canadian center Chris McLaughlin (208, college: Victoria) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Croatian-Australian swingman Dominic Gilbert (198, college: UBC, agency: BIG) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Four HK Eastern players scored in double figures. American center Tevin Glass (203-1994, college: ETSU) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Yi-Hou Wong (195-1996) added 20 points respectively for lost side. NS Matrix's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. HK Eastern have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Defending Malaysian champion NS Matrix dropped to the third position with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Saigon Heat.
