Regular Season Round 35: Shinagawa - Yamaguchi 88-86

Bottom-ranked Shinagawa managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of three consecutive losses. This time they edged fourteenth-ranked Yamaguchi 88-86. Shinagawa dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Yamaguchi's 38. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Shinagawa brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American forward AJ Bramah (201-1999, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Canadian center Renaldo Dixon (206-1990, college: NM State) helped adding 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Shinagawa players scored in double figures. Jamaican-British center Ryan Richards (212-1991) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and American power forward Michael Phillips (202-1990, college: Howard) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Shinagawa maintains sixteenth place with 3-33 record. Yamaguchi lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 26 games lost. They share it with Kanazawa. Shinagawa will play against higher ranked Saitama (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yamaguchi will play against Kagoshima (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
