No shocking result in a game when first ranked Chiba (30-9) beat at home 7th ranked Tokyo Z (9-30) 80-70 on Sunday. Chiba dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Z's 32. American players dominated also this game. Forward Leo Lyons (206-1987, college: Missouri) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and power forward Evan Ravenel (204-1989, college: Ohio St.) accounted for 15 points. Power forward Ishmael Lane (203-1997, college: NSU) came up with 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and power forward Reginald Buckner (206-1991, college: Ole Miss) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Tokyo Z in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tokyo Z's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Chiba. Newly promoted Chiba maintains first place with 30-9 record. Loser Tokyo Z keeps the seventh position with 30 games lost. Chiba will meet Nishinomiya S. (#5) in the next round.
