Regular Season Round 34: Tachikawa - Tokyo Utd 66-68

Fifteenth-ranked Tachikawa (9-26) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Tokyo Utd (22-13) on Saturday. The visitors from Tokyo managed to secure only two-point victory 68-66. However their fans expected much easier game. American Marcus Dove (206-1985, college: OK State) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import swingman Michael Craig (196-1991, college: Southern Miss) chipped in 7 points, 5 assists and 4 steals during the contest. At the losing side American forward Tristin Walley (201-1996, college: Arkansas St., agency: One Motive Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Kota Akiyama (188-1996) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Tachikawa players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Tokyo Utd have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Tokyo Utd maintains sixth position with 22-13 record. Tachikawa lost fifth consecutive game. Tachikawa at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifteenth place with 26 games lost. Tokyo Utd will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tachikawa will play again against Tokyo Utd (#6) and hope to secure a win.
