Regular Season Round 38: Shinshu BW - Hitachi SRT 70-81

The most important game in the last round took place in Nagano between third ranked Shinshu BW (18-19) and fifth ranked Hitachi SRT (15-20) on Saturday night. Shinshu BW was defeated by Hitachi SRT at home 81-70. Hitachi SRT looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American Ryan Kelly (211-1991, college: Duke) who scored 25 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import forward Kevin Jones (206-1989, college: WVU) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Hitachi SRT's coach Tsutomu Isa used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) produced 24 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Reo Maeda (191-1997) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists respectively for the hosts. Hitachi SRT moved-up to fourth place. Shinshu BW at the other side keeps the third position with 19 games lost. They share it with FE Nagoya and Osaka E.. Hitachi SRT will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shinshu BW will play again at home against Hitachi SRT and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
