The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Seoul Knights' (21-17) home victory over 5th ranked Goyang (18-19) 96-83 on Sunday. Seoul Knights dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Goyang's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Goyang's players. The best player for the winners was American center Jameel Warney (203-1994, college: Stony Brook) who scored 29 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field). The former international guard Sunh-Yung Kim (187-1988) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 assists and 4 steals. Four Seoul Knights players scored in double figures. American power forward Dedric Lawson (206-1997, college: Kansas) produced a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and the former international guard Seonghyen Jeon (190-1991) added 22 points respectively for the guests. Goyang's coach Byong-Chul Kim tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 21-17 record. Loser Goyang keeps the fifth position with 19 games lost. Seoul Knights will meet at home KoGas (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Goyang will play against Suwon KT (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
