Regular Season Round 33: Kanazawa - Kagoshima 76-88

Very expected game in Ishikawa where 13th ranked Kanazawa (10-24) was defeated by fourth ranked Kagoshima (27-7) 88-76 on Sunday. Kagoshima outrebounded Kanazawa 43-29 including a 37-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-1993, college: LCU) who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 23 rebounds. Nigerian-American forward Michael Fakuade (201-1989, college: UIS) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Ukrainian forward Oleksandr Antypov (203-1995, agency: BIG) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Akitoshi Oguri (174-2001) added 18 points and 6 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kanazawa's coach Hidesuke Kuroshima rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kagoshima maintains fourth place with 27-7 record. Kanazawa lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 24 games lost. Kagoshima will meet at home Gifu (#8) in the next round. Kanazawa will play against the league's leader Shizuoka (#1) and hope to secure a win.
