Regular Season Round 8: Saigon Heat - Tigers 98-81

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Vietnamese Heat as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Heat defeated 8th ranked Thailand Tigers in Saigon 98-81. Heat dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Tigers' 38. American power forward Jeremy Combs (201-1995, college: Texas Southern) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Evan Gilyard II (178-1998, college: UMKC) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Augustus Stone (193, college: St.Thomas, FL) replied with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Kittitep Dasom (179-1996) added 18 points in the effort for Tigers. Five Heat and four Tigers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Heat have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with NS Matrix. Tigers at the other side stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Tigers will play next round against Valientes trying to get back on the winning streak. Heat will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked HK Eastern in Hong Kong.
