Regular Season Round 31: Kagoshima - Yokohama EX 86-90

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Renova where 4th placed Kagoshima (25-7) was defeated by fifth ranked Yokohama EX (24-8) 90-86 on Sunday. Yokohama EX looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman LJ Peak (196-1996, college: Georgetown, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Jordan Faison (201-1994, college: CPP) helped adding 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Four Yokohama EX players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Logan Routt (211-1997, college: WVU) responded with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and guard Yoshifumi Nakajima (176-1990) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Yokohama EX have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 24-8 record. Kagoshima at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Yokohama EX will meet at home league's second-placed Iwate in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kagoshima will play against Kanazawa in Ishikawa and hope to secure a win.
