But Phoenix was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Caloocan City 108-105 on Friday night. Blackwater Elite looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American forward Shawn Glover (201-1990, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Renato Ular (193-1995) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. American forward DuVaughn Maxwell (201-1991, college: Hampton) responded with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 blocks and guard Tyler Tio (183-1998) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Blackwater Elite will meet at home SM Beermen in the next round where they are favorite. Phoenix will play against SM Beermen in Manila and hope to win that game.
