Regular Season Round 18: Toyota BSR - Chanson V-M 60-63

The most exciting game of round 18 in the WJBL took place in Aichi. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th ranked Toyota BSR (12-6) to seventh ranked Chanson V-M (10-8) 63-60 on Sunday evening. It was a good game for the former international swingman Mai Yoshida (175-1998) who led her team to a victory with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Nigerian center Izoje Uche (188-2004) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Miki Sakamoto (164-1994) replied with 9 points and 4 assists and the former international center Miyuki Kawamura (185-1994) added 4 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Toyota BSR. Toyota BSR's coach Takehiko Chibana tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Chanson V-M maintains seventh position with 10-8 record. Toyota BSR at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Fujitsu RW. Chanson V-M are looking forward to face higher ranked Fujitsu RW (#4) in Kawasaki in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Toyota BSR will play at home against the league's leader Toyota A. where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
