Regular Season Round 7: NSH - Bumi Borneo 74-81

Bottom-ranked NSH (0-4) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to leader Bumi Borneo (4-0) 81-74. Bumi Borneo outrebounded NSH 54-33 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. NSH was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Randy Bell (193-1998, college: Dalton St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Julius Wongso (189-1994) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. American point guard Shavar Newkirk (179-1996, college: St.Joseph's) came up with 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and guard Andre Rorimpandey (177-1996) added 15 points respectively for NSH in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bumi Borneo have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Satria Muda and Dewa United. NSH at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Satya Wacana. Bumi Borneo will play against WBS (#9) in Jakarta in the next round and are hoping to win another game. NSH will have a break next round.
