Everything could happen in Baghdad at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Iraqi Al Naft and 7th ranked Syrian Al Karameh had identical 1-2 record. This time Al Naft used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Homs 82-72 on Thursday night. The best player for the winners was American forward Antwaine Wiggins (203-1988, college: Charleston, agency: BIG) who scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Jasim Al-Saeed (192-1995) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Five Al Naft players scored in double figures. American Musa Abdul-Aleem (196-1988, college: Troy) produced 26 points and guard Ishaq Oubid (192-1995) added 10 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. Defending Iraqi champion (2-2) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Al Riyadi. Al Karameh lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with three games lost.
