Rather predictable result in Akita where tenth ranked Aranmare A. (5-11) defeated bottom-ranked Himeji E. (2-14) 78-66 on Sunday. Aranmare A. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Himeji E.'s 32. They outrebounded Himeji E. 40-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. Forward Hitomi Kawase (174-1993) fired 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Asuka Hiramatsu (162-1994) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Aranmare A. players scored in double figures. Minami Shirasaki (166-1996) produced 28 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Saori Yoshida (158-1984) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Aranmare A. maintains tenth position with 5-11 record. Himeji E. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Aranmare A. will meet Niigata R. (#13) in the next round. Himeji E. will play against Eneos S. and hope to secure a win.
