Regular Season Round 7: Al Ashrafiyah - Al Ahli 79-93

Bottom-ranked Al Ashrafiyah is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to second ranked Al Ahli (6-1) 93-79. Al Ahli forced 24 Al Ashrafiyah turnovers and had a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international guard Sami Bzai (190-1994, college: SE Oklahoma) who led his team to a victory scoring 37 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Zane Najdawi (201-1996, college: Citadel) helped adding 23 points and 11 rebounds. Bzai is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Al Ahli players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Terrence Joyner (190-1988, college: MVSU) responded with 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Jalal Al Bustami scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Al Ashrafiyah's coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Al Ahli. Defending champion maintains second place with 6-1 record having just one point less than leader Orthodox. Al Ashrafiyah lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost.
