Finals Game 7: Ginebra Kings - Bay Area D. 114-99

Ginebra Kings celebrated Commissioners Cup title. They fired past Bay Area Dragons in the decisive seventh game of the championship series. The game was mostly controlled by Ginebra Kings. Bay Area D. managed to win third quarter 35-34. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ginebra Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Ginebra Kings made 7 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Bay Area D. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American forward Justin Brownlee (197-1988, college: St.John's) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 12 assists. Forward Jamie Malonzo helped adding 22 points and 17 rebounds. Brownlee is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American guard Myles Powell (188-1997, college: Seton Hall) responded with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Australian guard Hayden Blankley (198, college: WT) scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
