Regular Season Round 27: Kagoshima - Veertien Mie 104-61

The game between third ranked Kagoshima (24-4) and 11th ranked Veertien Mie (9-19) in Renova ended with biggest points difference. Kagoshima outscored guests from Yokkaichi 104-61. Kagoshima dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Veertien Mie's 34. They outrebounded Veertien Mie 40-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. Kagoshima players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Veertien Mie's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of Senegalese center Diop Cheikh (210-1997) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. American forward Logan Routt (211-1997, college: WVU) helped adding 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Kagoshima players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Tucker Haymond (198-1994, college: W.Michigan) with 25 points and 7 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and the other American import Eugene Artison (206-1995, college: USAO, agency: One Motive Sports) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kagoshima have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Iwate. Veertien Mie lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Kanazawa. Kagoshima will play against league's leader Shizuoka on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Veertien Mie will play against the league's second-placed Iwate (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
