Regular Season Round 26: Tokyo HT - Shizuoka 56-62

Leader Shizuoka recorded the twenty sixth victory. This time they beat 9th ranked Tokyo HT (10-18) 62-56. Shizuoka brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Tokyo HT was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Argentinian forward Alexis Elsener (195-1988, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. American center Kenny Lawson (207-1988, college: Creighton) contributed with 11 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Elsener is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Kodai Takahashi (180-1991) replied with 14 points and American power forward John Fields (205-1988, college: Tennessee) added 7 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo HT. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Shizuoka (26-2) have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Tokyo HT at the other side keeps the ninth place with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
